<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Syarifuddin Islamic Boarding School Wonorejo Lumajang is one of the significant Islamic boarding schools in Lumajang, which can produce generations of memorizing the Qur'an with accountable reading quality. This is proven by the number of students who excel in the Musabaqoh Hifdzil Qur'an (MHQ) event at the district, provincial, and national levels and even being able to achieve at the ASEAN level. This study uses a type of field research with a descriptive qualitative approach. The selection of research subjects was carried out using a purposive technique. Data was collected through non-participant observation techniques, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data obtained were analyzed through four data management activities guided by Miles and Huberman's procedures, including data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The research shows that implementing the memorization of al-Qur'an learning method to accelerate students' memorization applies four methods: the muroja'ah method, the kitabah method, the sima'i method, and the test method. The muroja'ah, the sima'i, and test methods were applied by all students who memorized the Qur'an, while the kitabah method was only used by students who followed bit-tartil level.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The heyday of Islam was when Islamic education developed rapidly, marked by the development of Islamic educational institutions and traditional schools and universities in various Islamic cultural centers. Educational institutions greatly influence and shape the pattern of life and culture of Muslims. Islamic educational institutions with a Sufism design have become part of the ongoing process of the history of educational thought in the classical period of Islam. Therefore, this discussion will focus on tracing the development of ribath, zawiyah, and khanqah institutions, starting from the curriculum, methods, and their contribution to Islamic intellectual progress in general. The purpose of this study is to present a tracing of the development of Islamic educational institutions with a Sufism nuance because the institutions have contributed to the intellectual progress of Islam and are reflected in the history of human socio-cultural development on earth. This research is a literature study using literature from various sources. The survey results show that Sufism institutions (Ribath, Zawiyah, and Khanqah) contribute to the growth of Islamic educational institutions in restoring spiritual purity and inner peace in Sufi teachings. Its teachings include curriculum, and methods that promote a spiritual closeness to Allah Swt, formalize Sufism as a separate scientific subject, increase social power through the organization, revive Sufi traditions, and serve as a distinct way of understanding and practicing Islam.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study aims to reveal how the Yayasan Lingkar Perdamaian (YLP) fosters former terrorists so that they can change or at least not commit violence and acts of terrorism in the name of religion. Through qualitative research, data was collected using in-depth interviews and observations of social activities in the field. The results of this study would like to suggest that strengthening religious moderation in former terrorist actors must be carried out in teaching-based Islamic education and social and psychological-based educational efforts. This means that the moderate character of ex-terrorists must be encouraged by various approaches that can open their hearts. So that they are willing to accept mistakes for their past behavior and are optimistic that they can socialize more with others based on Islamic educational values. Thus, Islamic education that is oriented towards a moderate religious understanding of terrorists must rely on rationalist and social aspects in a more humanist frame.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Commercial sex workers (so called PSK) referred to women who have been humiliated by the public and considered social filth. Society has viewed the life of commercial sex workers (PSK) obliquely, because their lives collide with social and religious norms. The localization of Puger, Jember Regency is an isolated place which is one of the biggest prostitution places in Jember. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques using active participatory observation, semi-structured interviews and documentation. The data analysis used was a qualitative descriptive analysis with an interactive model based on Miles, Huberman and Saldana. The validity of the data uses triangulation of sources and techniques. The research findings show that the reconstruction of akidah awareness for commercial sex workers through a humanistic approach in the localization of Puger has changed sex workers to improve and change their lives for the better, sex workers need spiritual sacredness to believe in God and leave a space where God want to be institutionalized through religious practices such as prayer, zakat, fasting and reciting the Qur’an, there are several changes in the moral aspects of sex workers, including that they do not consume drugs or alcohol, do not gamble, do not disturb neighbors with karaoke noises and their shaking, do not watch porn videos and happy to help others.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study aims to determine the learning of al-Qur’an through the Ummi method at Islamic Kindergarten Widya Cendekia. This research employs a qualitative research approach with a case study design. The data were obtained from the results of observations, interviews, and document reviews. The results showed that the application of the Ummi method carried out by Islamic Kindergarten Widya Cendekia in learning al-Qur’an had a good effect on children's ability to read al-Qur’an properly and correctly and increased their ability to memorize al-Qur'an. This can be seen from the response and behavior of students when learning al-Qur’an using the Ummi method. The students were able to follow the reading tonnes of Ummi and tajwid (the structure of Qur’an recitation). Certified teachers who routinely conduct training in learning the ummi method and the availability of teaching aids are both supportive and inhibiting factors in using the ummi method. The inhibiting factors in the implementation of the ummi method were that each group consisted of students who had different abilities or volume achievements, a lack of cooperation between parents and teachers in learning to read al-Qur’an, and a lack of teacher ability in managing Qur'an learning classes using the ummi method.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The existing Islamic religious education curriculum shows a clear separation between subjects like Al-Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, Aqidah, and the history of Islamic culture. Full integration of these elements is lacking, but it has the potential to improve students' religious experiences by providing comprehensive support for worship. Madrasah institutions face challenges related to ownership, environment, and teachers adapting to technological advancements in the current era. This study aims to explore how PAI (Islamic Religious Education) teachers implement innovative approaches in madrasahs. Employing a qualitative research design with a literature review methodology, information was gathered from various regulations, books, and magazines. We opted for a qualitative approach to explore innovative curriculum changes that can improve the quality of millennial-era madrasahs with Islamic characteristics. The literature review exposed a predominant focus on subject-centric designs influenced by teachers and infrastructure in constructing Islamic religious education curricula in madrasahs. In response, a proposed ideal model emphasizes an integrated learning approach tailored for the millennium era. This model strives to enhance Islamic language skills through integration. The study concludes by underlining key themes: innovation, curriculum development, Islamic religious education, madrasah, and the era of Society 5.0.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This article outlines the integration of local culture into the development of Arabic language teaching materials, aiming to enhance students' reading skills. The research, categorized as Research and Development, involved class X students and Arabic language teachers at Madrasah Aliyah Nuris in Jember Regency, East Java. The teaching materials underwent five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation, including the validation of assessment instruments and analysis of validation data. Research findings on the development of teaching materials grounded in local cultural content unfolded through distinct phases. These included the design of teaching material products, systematically organizing the primary study materials; the presentation of trial results for Arabic language teaching materials infused with local culture, featuring regional song culture and images of the surrounding environment to engage student interest; and the analysis of expert assessments and student responses to these teaching material products. The unique impact of Local Culture-Based Arabic language teaching materials on self-regulation was evident in students' adeptness at overcoming learning challenges, practicing self-regulation and enhanced focus, aiding comprehensive understanding of various ideas and subjects. This proficiency enabled them to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios and fostered creativity in overcoming hurdles in learning to read Arabic texts.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Character education is now a focal point in Indonesia's education system, aligning with national development goals to cultivate students who embody faith, piety, noble character, health, knowledge, competence, creativity, independence, and responsibility. To counter the erosion of moral values in adolescents influenced by modernization and globalization, effective character education implementation is crucial. Since the 2013 curriculum is deemed ineffective, the project-based independent curriculum aims to fortify students' characters. SD Baiturrohman GMI Jember is among the schools that have adopted this approach. This qualitative research illustrates the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), emphasizing tolerance in Class V-B SD Baiturrohman GMI. P5, themed "Global Diversity," unfolds in four stages: Variety of Greetings, Celebrations, Virtual Tours, and Collaboration in the Virtual World. Students engage in enjoyable activities like treasure hunting, crafting board games, virtual tourism exploration, and collaborative online ventures. Notably, these activities enhance understanding and practice of tolerance, showcasing the effectiveness of project-based learning facilitated by teachers. However, further efforts are required to ensure all students achieve the P5 goals.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Building Religious Character in implementing school culture at Baiturrohman Griya Mangli Indah Jember Elementary School is an important aspect in forming student’s personalities. The school integrates religious values into school culture as part of efforts to create good character in students. The formation of religious character does not only focus on religious teaching, but also on the application of moral values that reflect noble character in everyday life. This research uses a qualitative research method with a phenomenology design. Data collection techniques use observation and documentation. The data analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman analysis. Test the validity of the data by triangulation and adequacy of references. The results of this research show that the process of building religious character at SD Baiturrohman Griya Mangli Indah Jember is through Duha prayer activities, reading Juz Amma, congregational prayers, good manners, through religious activities such as Friday charity, reading Asmaul-Husnah together on Sundays. Friday, reading juz amma, memorizing daily prayers, learning Arabic and English and so on. This can raise the issue of synchronizing the school's vision and mission with what parents expect. Regarding this, teachers are supposed to be more careful in guiding students and setting a good example for them, as some kids still arrive late.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Improving education quality is a crucial policy in Indonesia, yet Fiqh education in Madrasah Aliyah faces challenges due to potentially unengaging teaching methods. Textbooks play a pivotal role as the primary source of knowledge. This study evaluates the appropriateness of the Class X Fiqh Textbook in the context of contextual learning, aligning teaching material with real-world scenarios for practical student connections. The article specifically focuses on analyzing Class X Fiqh Textbooks in the context of contextual learning. This exploratory and descriptive study uses checklists and documentation to analyze data, incorporating theoretical insights from literature studies. The findings reveal the absence of the constructivism element, the presence of standardized procedural topics like Hajj, Umrah, Qurban, and Aqiqah, and predominantly conceptual material in discussions about wealth ownership release, usury, banks, and insurance. Consequently, students acquire knowledge without a genuine understanding of the content. The findings reveal a deficiency in constructivism within Grade X Fikih teaching materials, particularly in conceptual areas like asset ownership transfer, usury, banks, and insurance. Procedural content related to Hajj and Umrah, Qurban, and Akikah is already standardized. This gap may lead to students acquiring knowledge without a thorough understanding. To enhance comprehension, adjustments or additional constructivist elements are essential in the learning process.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">In the practical implementation of enhancing Quranic memorization in various schools, there are challenges involved in selecting and implementing effective strategies. Some teachers may encounter difficulties in applying suitable strategies for teaching Quranic memorization, evident in students' struggles with memorization. This study aims to explore how tahfidz teachers at Mukhtar Syafa'at Banyuwangi Distinguished Junior High School employ strategies to improve Quranic memorization, identify factors that either support or hinder these strategies, and describe the psychological implications experienced by Quranic memorizers at the school. The research utilized a qualitative approach with a case study design. The key findings are as follows: Firstly, teacher strategies for enhancing students' memorization involve classical approaches such as repetition, deposits, and simultaneous memorization. Monthly activities encompass memorization competitions, participation in events, annual programs like pilgrimage visits and tahfidz graduations, and a holiday initiative where groups memorize one juz in a day. Secondly, hindering factors include economic difficulties, broken families, lack of enthusiasm, a lack of self-motivation, and laziness. Supporting factors comprise age, students' intelligence, talents and interests, self-motivation, the environment, teachers, friends, and rewards. Thirdly, psychological implications for Quranic memorizers involve strict self-preparation and management, the obligation to maintain memorization, comprehension of the memorized recitations, and the responsibility for their implementation.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Current migration often represents a quest for self-betterment and increased religious commitment, mainly accomplished through Arabic language study. This language emphasis stems from the Quran and Sunnah being in Arabic, constituting the core teachings of Islam. Muslims must grasp the foundational elements of Islam, making proficiency in Arabic essential. Learning the language is not merely a duty but a vital prerequisite for understanding and fulfilling the obligations outlined in the Quran and Sunnah, emphasizing the significance of studying Sharia. In a scholarly exploration of motives for learning Arabic, 86% to 98% of respondents were motivated by a desire to learn Islam and gain knowledge of Islamic civilization. This study seeks to outline the application of the Arabic language curriculum specifically designed for studying Fiqh and Hadith within the Language Preparation Department at Imam Shafi'i University in Jember. This study employed a qualitative approach to comprehend the overall experience of the research subject. It utilized descriptive linguistic expressions within a specific natural context, employing diverse scientific methods. The results show that teaching Arabic for specific purposes is segmented into two stages: beginner and advanced. Each stage involves distinct materials and instructional hours. Likewise, there are differences in credit hours between the standard Arabic language program and the specialized program for specific purposes.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach integrates academic material with students’ real-world experiences, encouraging them to apply their knowledge in daily life. CTL fosters natural learning through active student participation in projects rather than traditional teacher-centered instruction. This approach emphasizes students as active learners, enhancing their engagement and understanding. Learning interest, defined as a stable tendency to engage with specific activities, plays a vital role in shaping students’ academic attitudes. Educators play a crucial role in nurturing this interest. This study explores three key aspects of CTL in Islamic religious education at Muhammadiyah Mayangan Middle School, Probolinggo: planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data was gathered through field research methods, including interviews, observations, and documentation, supported by primary and secondary sources. Findings reveal that lesson planning incorporates CTL strategies to create structured and engaging lessons. The implementation of CTL includes seven components: constructivism, questioning, discovery, modeling, learning communities, reflection, and authentic assessment, all aimed at fostering meaningful learning experiences. Evaluation methods extend beyond written tests to include active classroom participation, such as expressing opinions, answering questions, and participating in quizzes. The results highlight the effectiveness of CTL strategies in increasing student interest and engagement in Islamic religious education.</dc:description>

The management of student master books in this madrasa has been carried out in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), but its implementation is still manual. Manual recording of student data is prone to writing errors, data loss, and the difficulty of searching or updating information. Therefore, a digital-based master book innovation was carried out. The purpose of this study is to identify how the application of digital master books can improve efficiency and security in student data management. This study is a qualitative study with a case study type: Data collection techniques were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation methods. The results of the study showed that the innovation of digital master books succeeded in significantly increasing the efficiency of data management, especially in terms of the speed of access and archiving of student data. Data security is also more guaranteed through the use of layered protection systems such as encryption and limited access control that can minimize the risk of data leakage.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">In the learning process, an active and enjoyable learning environment is a key point for students to be interested in the material presented. However, in reality, students often feel bored because learning is mostly conducted using the lecture method alone. The subject of Al-Qur'an Hadith is not only about understanding but also about knowing and memorizing verses related to the material taught. Therefore, a teacher must be able to choose enjoyable teaching methods that can enhance learning outcomes and students' memorization abilities. One effective method to help students memorize and understand the verses of the Qur'an is the card sort method, which involves using index cards containing Al-Qur'an Hadith material that is then discussed in their respective groups. This aims to assess students' memorization strengths and understanding of the verses of the Qur'an they have studied. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The results of this study indicate that by using the card sort learning method supported by various other methods such as lectures, discussions, and question-and-answer sessions, students will be more active and enthusiastic in learning. The evaluation of the learning process can be seen from students' activity in discussions, cooperation with their groups, and their attitude in answering questions from the teacher. Thus, the card sort method can enhance students' understanding and memorization of verses related to the material and meet the desired targets.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study analyzes the phenomenon of selective mutism in elementary school children and the role of gadget use in influencing the condition. Selective mutism is an anxiety disorder characterized by the inability of children to speak in certain environments, such as school, although they can communicate fluently in more familiar environments. Excessive use of gadgets is known to worsen selective mutism because it reduces direct social interaction, increases levels of social anxiety, and interferes with children's concentration. The purpose of this study was to identify the causes of selective mutism and evaluate the impact of gadget use on the disorder. Using a qualitative approach through interviews and observations of students at SDN Kaliwates 01 Jember, this study explored the factors that influence selective mutism, especially in relation to the impact of gadgets on increasing anxiety and limited communication in children. The results showed a relationship between gadget use and increased symptoms of selective mutism. Support from parents and schools was found to have a crucial role in regulating gadget use and improving children's social skills. This study recommends limiting gadget use and children's participation in social activities as an effort to help them gradually overcome selective mutism and build confidence in communicating in a wider social environment.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The nature of science has become one of the main themes in philosophical studies, particularly from an ontological perspective. Ontology, as a branch of philosophy that discusses existence and reality, views science as a systematic effort by humans to understand the existing reality. In the ontological framework, science is identified through the existence of the subject of study, the fundamental properties of the reality being examined, and the relationship between the subject (human) and the object being studied. This research is a library study, which means that the research uses library sources such as books, journals, and articles to analyze and support the study of the Nature of Science regarding Ontological Studies. The data analysis used is content analysis. The results of this research indicate that there are 5 schools of thought within the study of ontology that explain the nature of knowledge.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This research aims to explore the relationship between Islamic education and the sharia economy in the development of the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School Business Entity (BUMPes) in Paiton, Probolinggo. Despite numerous studies on the pesantren's economic role, we still lack a comprehensive understanding of how Islamic education directly impacts the management and sustainability of BUMPes. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews with BUMPes managers, involved students, and teachers at the pesantren. We also obtained data by directly observing the business activities conducted by BUMPes. The research findings indicate that Islamic education provides a strong foundation for BUMPes managers in applying sharia economic principles, such as justice and transparency in transactions. Additionally, the students involved in BUMPes experience an increase in managerial skills and understanding of sharia financial management. This research also identifies the challenges faced in the implementation of Sharia economic principles, including the lack of resources and external support. Thus, this research emphasizes the importance of integrating Islamic education and sharia economics to support business development in the pesantren environment. We expect the results of this research to aid in the development of the educational curriculum in pesantren and offer valuable insights for policymakers to support sharia-based micro-enterprises.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study examines the development of Arabic learning video media that integrates gender equality values for students at the vocational or high school level. So far, gender representation in Arabic learning media tends to be biased, with stereotypical role visualizations between men and women. The focus of this research is to design and evaluate gender-responsive learning videos, especially in conversation materials in Arabic. This research uses a qualitative approach with phenomenological methods and interpretivism paradigms. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and tested for validity using source triangulation. The results of the study show that there are four values of gender equality that have been successfully integrated in video media, namely: control, access, benefits, and participation. The developed videos not only improve Arabic comprehension, but also provide an equal and inclusive learning experience for both male and female students. This study contributes to enriching value-based foreign language learning media innovations, as well as providing an initial model for the development of gender-fair learning media.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study aims to examine the application of 3D media integration and interactive videos in improving speaking skills (maharah kalam) of Madrasah Tsanawiyah students. The background of this study is the low ability of students in speaking Arabic due to monotonous learning methods and minimal interaction. The method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, classroom observations, and questionnaires. The research subjects consisted of teachers and students of class VIII MTs Miftahul Ulum Rambipuji Jember who were actively involved in this technology-based learning. The results showed significant improvement in vocabulary (from 58% to 86%), sentence structure (52% to 81%), and contex-tual application (47% to 79%). 3D media was shown to strengthen visual comprehension and linguistic context, while interactive videos encouraged active participation and better pronunciation through immedi-ate feedback. The findings indicate that an integrative approach between visual and interactive media can improve students' cognitive and affective aspects simultaneously. The study recommends wider implemen-tation of digital media in the Arabic curriculum as well as continuous teacher training to maximize the po-tential of technology in improving students' productive skills.</dc:description>

This study tries to identify the ad-vantages, challenges, and impacts on students’ language skills. Using descriptive qualitative methods, data were collected trough observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that CBL, especially trough simulations, educational games, and interactive multimedia, is effective in increasing students’ motivation, engagement, and Arabic language proficiency. CBL enables personalized, flexible, and engaging learning with instant feedback. However, challenges such as limited infrastructure and teachers’ technological competence still exist. This study concludes that CBL is a relevant method fo 21st-century education, but requires curriculum development, teacher training and continuous technological support to optimize its implementation in madrasah.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This research is a qualitative study, with data collection techniques include documentation, interviews, and observation. The instructional development model used is the ASSURE model, which recommends six main activities in instructional planning: (A) Analyze the general characteristics of the target group.(S) State or formulate the learning objectives. (S) Select, modify, or design and develop appropriate materials and media. (U) Utilize the materials and media. (R) Require learner participation or responses. (E) Evaluate the learning process. There are various types of learning evaluation, including formative and summative evaluation. Formative evaluation is the process of collecting data during the development of instructional media with the aim of determining its feasibility. This evaluation includes several instruments that serve as parameters for assessing the quality of the media from the perspectives of content, educational value, and technical quality. Summative evaluation, is used to determine the effectiveness of the instructional media after its implementation. This includes written tests, performance assessments and practicum, portfolio assessments, project evaluations, and rubric-based assessments.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study aims to examine the effectiveness of using audio, visual, and multimedia media in teaching Arabic in the increasingly developing digital era. In the context of modern education, the utilization of technology is crucial for enhancing the quality of learning. By employing a mixed-method approach, this research combines quantitative and qualitative data to provide a more comprehensive picture of the impact of media on students' learning outcomes. The findings indicate that the use of audio media significantly contributes to the improvement of students' listening skills, which is an essential aspect of mastering the Arabic language. Additionally, visual media, such as images and graphics, have proven effective in reinforcing vocabulary comprehension, allowing students to more easily remember and use new words in the appropriate context. Audiovisual media, which combines audio and visual elements, creates a more interactive and engaging learning experience, leading to greater student involvement in the learning process. Furthermore, this study also found that the use of interactive media, such as educational applications and online learning platforms, can significantly enhance student participation. Thus, this research highlights the importance of integrating appropriate media in Arabic language teaching to improve student motivation and learning outcomes, as well as providing recommendations for educators to leverage technology in the learning process.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Anxiety in the learning process is one of the significant obstacles experienced by many students and can affect their academic performance. This study aims to explore how pair work activities can help reduce student learning anxiety at MAN 2 Probolinggo. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques were conducted through in depth interviews, direct classroom observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that pair work activities have a positive impact on reducing learning anxiety. Students feel more confident, comfortable, and active when learning with supportive partners. Interactions in pair work create a safe and collaborative learning environment, encouraging students to be more open and less afraid of making mistakes. Although challenges such as mismatched pairs or dominance by certain students exist, this strategy is generally proven effective. Therefore, paired work can be adopted as a routine learning strategy that supports the creation of an inclusive and participatory learning process, particularly for students with high levels of anxiety.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Low levels of early literacy skills among some lower-grade students, including those at MI Negeri 2 Jember, suggest that the implementation of beginning reading instruction has not yet achieved optimal outcomes. This condition is reflected in students’ difficulties in identifying letters, differentiating letter sounds, and reading syllables as well as simple words. The present study seeks to examine the types of early reading difficulties experienced by students and the factors contributing to these challenges. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, utilizing classroom observations, diagnostic reading tests, and interviews as data collection techniques. The research participants consisted of several early-grade students identified as having difficulties in beginning reading skills. The findings indicate three dominant forms of difficulty, namely limited visual discrimination of letters, challenges in combining sounds into syllables or words, and low reading fluency. These difficulties are influenced by internal factors, such as students’ learning readiness and cognitive abilities, as well as external factors, including the limited variety of instructional methods used by teachers and insufficient literacy stimulation in the home environment. The results highlight the importance of implementing appropriate and focused interventions, such as structured phonics-based instruction, the use of visual learning media, and individualized learning assistance. Through these strategies, schools are expected to enhance early literacy development and improve the overall effectiveness of beginning reading instruction.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study responds to the increasing need to renew Islamic instructional methodologies in light of contemporary pedagogical developments and 21st-century competency demands. The contributions of ʿAlī Aḥmad Madzkūr are central to this effort, as he proposes an educational framework that integrates revelation, rational inquiry, and lived experience as the epistemic foundation of Islamic pedagogy. The research examines four principal methods formulated by Madzkūr—exemplary modeling, dialogic learning, problem-solving, and observation combined with experimentation—while situating them in conversation with Western educational perspectives, especially those of Dewey, Kolb, and Bandura. It also analyzes his emphasis on instructional media as tools for clarifying abstract ideas, fostering active engagement, and linking theoretical concepts with practical realities, supported by a reflective-diagnostic evaluation system. Using a library-based research design, the study employs thematic, comparative, and synthetic analyses grounded in Madzkūr’s primary works and current pedagogical discourse. The findings show that his approach is integrative, merging ethical formation, rational development, and empirical inquiry into a unified pedagogical structure. Modeling cultivates moral character, discussion strengthens analytical thinking, observation and experimentation develop scientific habits of mind, and problem-solving enhances higher-order reasoning. Altogether, Madzkūr’s framework aligns with modern educational theories while offering a distinctive spiritual dimension, making it a promising and adaptable model for Islamic education.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">This study is motivated by the limited research exploring the relationship between nahwu (Arabic grammar) and theology, particularly within classical works that systematically integrate both fields. Risālah al-Maimūniyyah fī Tawḥīd al-Ajurrūmiyyah by al-Idrīsī presents a unique approach by interpreting the text of al-Ajurrūmiyyah- a foundational treatise in Arabic semantics -through the lens of ‘ilm al-kalām. This phenomenon highlights an academic gap that has not been widely addressed in either linguistic or theological studies. The aim of this research is to analyze in depth the content of the work, specifically how grammatical concepts are interwoven with theological discussions, such as the explanation of God’s attributes -nafsiyyah, salbiyyah, and ma‘ānī- which are linked to the structure of marfū‘āt al-asmā’. The method employed is library research, examining the primary source, Risālah al-Maimūniyyah, which serves as a commentary on al-Ajurrūmiyyah, along with secondary literature relevant to both grammar and theology. The findings indicate that nahwu can be understood not only through a purely linguistic approach but also enriched through theological perspectives without contradicting conventional grammatical principles. The “theological grammar” approach presented in this work functions as an epistemic expansion that offers a new interpretive framework for reading al-Ajurrūmiyyah. This study contributes to opening a scholarly dialogue between Arabic linguistics and theology, while providing a foundation for further interdisciplinary development within Islamic studies.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">The use of English in Islamic boarding schools has become a crucial aspect of contemporary language education, as these schools aim to combine religious teachings with global communication skills. In this framework, English learning is interwoven with moral and spiritual values, shaping students who are both proficient in the language and ethically responsible. One key initiative is the English Week Program (EWP), which provides an immersive environment for practicing English. Despite this, students often struggle to maintain consistent use of English due to linguistic, psychological, and environmental barriers. This study explored the factors hindering the EWP at Baitul Arqom Islamic Boarding School, Balung, Jember, and examined strategies to improve students’ English practice. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, data were gathered through observations, interviews, and documentation involving six English coordinators and ten female students. Analysis was conducted through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured via source and technique triangulation. Findings identified obstacles such as limited vocabulary, pronunciation difficulties, low confidence, fear of errors, dominance of Arabic, insufficient exposure to English, inconsistent supervision, few mentors, and a punitive system causing psychological stress. Recommended strategies included structured weekly activities, role modeling by teachers and senior students, integration of moral and linguistic lessons, supportive monitoring, positive reinforcement, and diary-writing exercises to enhance engagement in both spoken and written English.</dc:description>

<dc:description xml:lang="en-US">Sahnun’s religious-conservative thought, as articulated by a prominent ninth-century Maliki jurist, made a significant contribution to preserving Islamic orthodoxy through his monumental work al-Mudawwanah al-Kubrā. This intellectual orientation emphasizes strong adherence to authoritative religious texts, the authority of the ulama, and the strict implementation of Islamic legal practices. Meanwhile, pesantren in Indonesia are widely recognized as traditional Islamic educational institutions that prioritize discipline, obedience to scholarly authority, and the embedding religious character. The intersection between Sahnun’s conservatism and the pesantren tradition therefore warrants closer scholarly examination. The central research question of this study concerns how Sahnun’s religious-conservative thought is understood and the extent to which it is relevant to the pesantren educational system. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following the PRISMA guidelines. Data were drawn from 21 Scopus-indexed journal articles published between 2015 and 2025. The selection process involved identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and the synthesis of relevant findings. The results indicate that key elements of Sahnun’s religious conservatism, such as textual authority, fiqh discipline, and a firm commitment to preserving tradition, exhibit strong resonance with contemporary pesantren education. This study affirms that Sahnun’s conservatism not only played a crucial role in the historical development of Islamic law but also provides a normative and epistemological foundation for the continuity of pesantren as Islamic educational institutions in the contemporary era.</dc:description>
