Removal Punishment Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam Terhadap Peserta Didik Perokok

Abstract

Studi ini mengeksplorasi pelaksanaan hukuman yang dilakukan guru Pendidikan Agama Islam pada peserta didik perokok di sekolah menengah dan menganalisis motif tindakan sosial Sang Guru melakukannya. Studi kasus ini menghimpun data dengan wawancara mendalam pada guru Pendidikan Agama Islam dan peserta didik perokok di sebuah sekolah menengah pertama di Jember. Data yang terhimpun kemudian dianalisis dengan teknik analisis interaktif Miles, dkk.. Studi ini menemukan bahwa Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam melakukan removal punishment dengan teknik response cost terhadap peserta didik perokok, yakni dengan cara mengambil hak mereka untuk keluar area sekolah sebagai bentuk hukuman. Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam melakukannya karena motif ‘rasionalitas instrumental’. Studi ini berkontribusi memberikan insight baru dalam studi Pendidikan Agama Islam karena melaporkan bentuk punishment yang digunakan guru Pendidikan Agama Islam terhadap peserta didik perokok, sekaligus mengeksplorasi motif tindakan sosial Sang Guru saat melakukannya, yang belum pernah dikaji peneliti lain. Penulis merekomendasikan agar Kementerian Agama Kabupaten dan Dinas Pendidikan di level kabupaten dan provinsi memberikan pelatihan pada guru Pendidikan Agama Islam agar memiliki keterampilan melaksanakan disiplin positif dan menyarankan pada peneliti selanjutnya yang hendak melakukan penelitian dengan tema serupa, untuk melakukan studi lanjutan yang melibatkan lembaga dan partisipan yang lebih banyak atau dilakukan dalam jangka waktu lama.
