The CREW Journal is an open access journal published by Language Development Unit, State Islamic University of Kiai Haji Achmad Siddiq, Jember. It becomes a platform for researchers, academicians, practitioners or post-graduate students to disseminate outputs from their research grounded in current theoretical and conceptual lens. The journal receives research or studies anchored in qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-method approaches.

All articles submitted to CREW journal will be screened out by the editor for initial review to see whether or not they meet the scopes and aims of the journal and have sufficient quality before they are sent out for a peer review process. The CREW journal offers critical and fresh insight into current issues particularly in foreign language education and language assessment and testing. However, it also receives submission in the areas of linguistics, literature, and applied linguistics. It also covers the following, but not limited to, research areas, including:

 1. Innovation in English and Arabic language teaching methodology

2. In-service and pre-service teacher professional development

3. Integration of technology into language teaching and learning

4. Foreign language education, second language acquisition, and curriculum

5. Educational linguistics and literature in English and Arabic studies
