Vol. 1 No. 2 (2019): Indonesian Journal of Islamic Law
These Issues offers a multifaceted exploration of Islamic law and societal practices through various lenses. It begins with an in-depth study of endogamy marriages within the Syarifah community, blending sociological insights with Maqashid Shariah principles. It then shifts to contemporary Arab thought, examining Muhammad ‘Abed al-Jabiri’s rationality. Musdah Mulia's progressive views served as inspiration for the analysis of gender equality in Islamic family law, which highlights changing spousal roles in Indonesia. Al-Ghazali’s Maşlahah is assessed for its relevance to Indonesian Fiqh, while interfaith marriages are explored from an inclusive Fiqh perspective. Finally, the dual roles of Indonesian women are discussed from a feminist viewpoint, addressing the balance between traditional family duties and broader societal participation. We are proud to present some of these articles to you!
